HIRING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!

The Executive Director of Providence iCityArts! for Youth is responsible for administration, fundraising, and oversight programs to support the 300+ young artists at the iCityArts! Broad Street Studios and other locations. Since 1992 Providence iCityArts! for Youth has provided equal access to performing and visual arts programs, unhindered by socio-economic barriers. 

 

The Executive Director leads fundraising efforts including grants and individual donations, directs a small team to support the programmatic mission and implementation, develops civic relationships and community partnership to advance the organization, and manages the budget and operations of the organization. 

 

This position reports directly to, and is evaluated by, the Board of Directors.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Organizational Leadership and Management (30%)

  • Manage a staff of 1 full-time employee, 2 part-time employee; Support staff management of 5-10 teaching artists and more than 50 volunteers annually. 

  • Develop job descriptions and hire when necessary; perform regular evaluations with staff.

  • Encourage staff & volunteer development and education, and assist program staff in relating their specialized work to the total program of the organization.

  • Maintain a climate which attracts, retains and motivates a diverse staff.

  • Be regularly available to staff to support studio classes at Broad Street

  • Provide timely and accurate information to the Board.

  • Co-lead long-term strategic planning with the Board

  • Collaborate with the board and other stakeholders to refine strategic objectives.

  • Oversee strategic plan implementation processes. 

  • Maintain a positive relationship with Highlander Charter School Administration and staff; collaborate on building-related projects in accordance with established lease agreement.

Fund Development and Grant Oversight (40%) 

  • Together with the Board, develop and manage the fundraising and financial strategies of the organization.

  • Develop and maintain the annual budget.

  • Create and present regular operational and financial reports to the Board.

  • Oversee all aspects of grant cycles, such as the research, writing, implementation, compliance, and reporting of grants.

  • Create and implement strategies for individual donor giving; maintain relationships with donors. 

  • Identify/shape new revenue opportunities that diversify the overall funding base.

  • Maintain pre-existing relationships and cultivate sponsorships.

 

Partnerships and Communications (30%)

  • Act as the public representative for iCityArts!, locally and nationally.

  • Set strategy for communications.

  • Manage communication materials and platforms (print, web, and social). 

  • Identify and capitalize on new and existing opportunities to distribute iCityArts! brand.

  • Develop strategic messaging across programmatic platforms, including newsletter, social media and website.

  • Maintain partnership programming that promotes iCityArts! brand & fiscal health.

  • Identify and advance new partnerships.

  • Cultivate relationships with local organizations for future partnership opportunities and coalition building. 

COMPENSATION

  • $50,000 - $55,000Plus Benefits
